Missing North Carolina Mother's Remains Found, Suspect with Prior Record Charged with Murder

The remains of a young mother, who had been reported missing, were discovered buried at a residential property in North Carolina, leading to a murder charge for an individual already incarcerated on different offenses.

Jordan Wishon, 30, was reported missing by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. Just two days after her disappearance, the investigation escalated to a murder inquiry following a grim discovery made during the execution of a search warrant.

According to a statement shared by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office on social media, "At approximately 5:17 a.m., investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on Pebblestone Lane in Rutherfordton. During the search, human remains were discovered buried on the property. Investigators were able to positively identify the remains as Jordan Wishon."

Suspect Faces Murder Charge

Jaydakis Kashaune Hamilton, 25, a resident of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, has been accused of Wishon's murder and is now facing a first-degree murder charge. Reports indicate Hamilton has a history of legal encounters.

At the time of the new charge, Hamilton was already being held in jail for an unrelated incident. He had been arrested in Polk County for an alleged vehicle theft. Prior to that, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol had issued charges against him for reckless driving offenses and resisting arrest. Hamilton remains in custody in Polk County as he awaits proceedings for the recent murder charge.

Ms. Wishon's obituary notes that she was a 30-year-old mother, survived by one child and a fiancé.

Family Expresses Grief

Casandra Toney, who identified herself as Wishon's sister, shared her sorrow in a public post on Facebook.

"I’m gonna miss you so much. This is unfair. You did not deserve this, but I can’t promise you we will get justice for you."

She further conveyed her affection, stating,

"I hope you know at the end of the day. I do love you and we’ll always love you. You’re my sister you’re my big sister at that."

The murder investigation is actively ongoing as authorities continue their work.
