Musician Noah Kahan has delivered a direct message to his fanbase after an unsettling incident occurred during his recent concert in Philadelphia.
A video gained significant traction online over the weekend, seemingly depicting what appeared to be human waste on the ground at Citizens Bank Park, where Kahan’s “The Great Divide” tour had made a stop.
The acclaimed “Stick Season” singer implored future concert attendees to utilize proper restroom facilities, humorously disclosing a past personal experience with on-stage defecation.
Kahan's Message to Concertgoers
“If you have to poop at a show please dear god just go to the bathroom lmao,” Kahan posted on X early Saturday.
He continued, acknowledging the shared human experience while emphasizing the impact on venue staff: “I’ve pooped my pants as much as the next 29 year old but you guys gotta understand there’s a venue worker out there with a 1000 yard stare after dealing with that.”
The 29-year-old artist then referenced his own past mishap: “I s--- myself onstage in Charlottesville but that's because I am dedicated to my craft.”
Eyewitness Account and Tour Details
The TikTok clip in question showcased floor seating areas surrounded by what appeared to be the offensive matter. A friend of the user who posted the video commented, “45,000 people and I end up seated right behind her.”
Initially, some questioned the nature of the substance. One commenter suggested, “Hear me out... what if it was dirt on their shoes? As a horse girl... sometimes I track mud in like this.” However, the video creator clarified the situation, stating, “She squatted and took a s---. Security was screaming at her to go to the bathroom.”
Kahan launched his fourth studio album, “The Great Divide,” in April, two years after receiving a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist following the success of “Stick Season.” His extensive 57-stop tour commenced earlier this month in Orlando, Florida, and is scheduled to conclude in Paris, France, by the end of the year.
A Broader Trend in Live Music Etiquette
This incident is not isolated in the realm of unusual concert behavior. Pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo recently shared her observations on peculiar habits at live music events during an interview on KISS FM UK.
Rodrigo recounted, “I have been to certain concerts and certain festivals where people wear diapers so that they can be front row of the show,” she explained. She added that as a performer, this behavior has sometimes led to noticeable odors: “and that's been an experience as a performer that I have smelled.”
